Autonomous systems are increasingly being integrated into manufacturing operations, demonstrating significant improvements in the efficiency, safety, and stability of business processes. Futurology is implementing practical projects to deploy robotic platforms on an industrial scale, proving the effectiveness of modern technological solutions in real-world operating conditions. One such example is the test operation project of the MT1 industrial cleaning robot at the production site of Orange Pavers, a leading supplier of outdoor space products for the residential and commercial sectors.
Key tasks and evaluation parameters:
Time Frame: 1 week in full operational mode of the enterprise.
The main tasks included:
- Determining the capabilities of the system;
- Evaluating actual performance indicators;
- Developing comprehensive analytics for the next stage of adapting solutions to the specific requirements of the production processes.
The testing program combined the evaluation of several key parameters:
- Efficiency of dust collection of various fractions;
- Ability to recognize and automatically remove large objects;
- Accuracy of navigation in an area with changing obstacles and dynamic personnel movement.
Special attention was given to how the MT1 adapts to different operational scenarios throughout the shift and how consistently it maintains cleaning quality during prolonged operational cycles.
Testing results
The test results demonstrated the robot's effective performance in industrial conditions, reducing risks for personnel on the enterprise premises and confirming the feasibility of integrating such solutions into daily operations.
Based on the test results:
- The use of the robot allowed saving approximately 3-4 non-productive hours per work shift for each of the 3 employees.
- Over a month, this results in a time saving of about 63-84 hours.
Among the technical advantages noted:
- The ability for zero-gap cleaning along walls;
- The capability to efficiently collect both fine dust and larger objects;
- The combination of Lidar SLAM and VSLAM ensures continuous space mapping and route correction;
- The AI-powered Trash Recognition system accurately identifies waste types and activates cleaning only when necessary.
Recorded operational time metrics:
- The average duration of continuous operation on a single charge was approximately 7 hours;
- The recharge cycle lasted less than 3 hours, allowing for up to three full cleaning cycles per day
Conclusions:
The test deployment of the MT1 at Orange Pavers demonstrates that the implementation of autonomous robotics is not only about resource optimization and cost reduction but, above all, a systemic shift towards new management principles, where autonomous platforms become an integral part of sustainable operational practices.
Based on the collected data, the Futurology team has begun refining the technical task and adjusting algorithms, which will allow for adapting the system parameters to the partner's business processes and preparing the platform for integration into regular operation.
