Drone Operator & Demo Pilot
Futurology is an established U.S. integrator and distributor of advanced robotics and emerging technologies, expanding into agricultural drone systems.
To support dealer onboarding, field demonstrations, and customer education, we are recruiting a skilled and certified drone operator who will perform demo flights, training sessions, field tests, and operational support for agricultural drones across the Eastern United States.
Key Responsibilities
Drone Operations, Demonstrations & Field Work:
- Conduct professional demo flights and live field presentations using agricultural drones.
- Perform on-site training for dealers and end users (setup, safety, spraying, calibration, maintenance basics).
- Execute operational missions including mapping, spraying tests, and performance validation.
Technical Setup & Pre‑Flight Procedures:
- Assemble and configure drones for demos, customer events, and dealer visits.
- Perform pre-flight inspections, RTK setup, calibration, battery management, and safety checks.
- Assist the engineering team in testing new equipment, firmware, payloads, and accessories.
Dealer Interaction, Support & Education:
- Serve as a field-facing representative of the company during visits and demos.
- Answer dealer questions about drone operation, safety, features, and farming applications.
- Help develop training content, operational manuals, safety guides, and demonstration scripts.
Travel & Field Logistics:
- Travel frequently (50–70%) across Eastern United States for dealer visits and demos.
- Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to prepare demo kits, field equipment, and promotional materials.
- Represent the company at field days, exhibitions, agricultural events, workshops, and trade shows.
Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen (required for waiver eligibility and regulatory compliance).
- Fluent English for professional communication and training sessions.
- Knowledge of Ukrainian is an advantage.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required or obtained shortly after hiring).
- Hands-on experience operating drones (preferably industrial or agricultural).
- Ability to travel frequently and work outdoors in varied field conditions.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with agricultural drones (XAG, DJI Agras, Hylio, or similar).
- Previous experience in farming, agronomy, crop spraying, or agricultural machinery.
- Familiarity with RTK systems, mission planning apps, spraying workflows, and field mapping.
- Experience conducting training sessions or public demos.
- Knowledge of FAA COA processes and waivers.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Confident in front of groups during demos.
- High sense of responsibility regarding safety and compliance.
- Professional, dependable, and calm under pressure.
