About
Unitree H2 EDU Smart I
Full-size 182 cm humanoid research platform with dual Inspire E2 tactile dexterous hands, 43 total DOF, 30 N thumb grip force, 17 tactile sensors per hand, wrist RGB cameras and expandable onboard compute.
Advanced Five-Finger Manipulation with Comprehensive Tactile Sensing
Unitree Robotics, a recognized leader in advanced robotics innovation, presents the H2 EDU Smart I — a full-size, 182 cm humanoid robot that combines the power of the H2 platform with advanced five-finger dexterous manipulation and comprehensive tactile sensing. This model, part of the H2 EDU Smart series, is engineered for cutting-edge research in embodied AI, dexterous manipulation, and human-robot interaction.
Inspire E2 Tactile Dexterous Hands
Building on the foundation of the H2 EDU Standard, the Smart I variant is equipped with two Inspire E2 Five-Finger Dexterous Hands with tactile feedback. Each hand features 6 degrees of freedom, delivering a thumb fingertip grip force of 30 N and a four-finger fingertip grip force of 28 N for robust object handling.
17 Tactile Sensors Per Hand
The advanced tactile sensing system includes 17 sensors per hand with a force range of 0–30 N and an accuracy of ≤5% FS, enabling precise force detection and nuanced manipulation.
Fast and Precise Hand Response
The hands provide a repeatability of ±0.20 mm. Thumb lateral swing and thumb flexion both exceed 130°/s, while four-finger flexion exceeds 200°/s. Palm closing time is 0.8 seconds.
Wrist-Mounted RGB Cameras
Each hand includes a wrist-mounted RGB camera with a 130° diagonal field of view and 1920 × 1080 resolution for close-up visual feedback.
43 Degrees of Freedom
The H2 EDU Smart I features 43 total degrees of freedom: 6 per leg, 7 per arm, 3 at the waist, 2 at the head, and 6 per dexterous hand.
Expandable Computing Platform
The robot includes an Intel Core i5 processor for platform functionality and an Intel Core i7 processor for user development. Empty PC3 and PC4 slots support optional upgrades such as NVIDIA Jetson Thor or Intel Core i7 + NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX.
High-Torque Whole-Body Actuation
Constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum, titanium alloy, and high-strength engineering plastics, the robot weighs approximately 70 kg. Its joint motors deliver up to 360 N·m in the legs and 120 N·m in the arms.
Perception, Interaction and Connectivity
The robot features a bionic head and face, wide-field-of-view humanoid binocular cameras, array microphones, and high-power speakers. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 support integration into modern research environments.
Full Secondary Development
The H2 EDU Smart I supports full secondary development through open APIs, deep system access, and SDK support for ROS2, Python, and C++.
