1000 Hz Control with MIT Force-Position Hybrid Mode

The hands operate at a control frequency of 1000 Hz across 20 axes and support MIT Force-Position Hybrid Control. This high update rate enables responsive finger control, precise adjustment of position and force, and stable behavior during dynamic manipulation.

Communication is handled through EtherNet 1000BASE-T, providing high-speed and reliable data transmission between the hand system and the robot's computing architecture.

High-Speed Grasping with Low Mechanical Backlash

Each hand delivers a fingertip peak force of at least 15 N and an opening and closing speed of at least 4 cycles per second. Joint backlash remains below , supporting accurate motion and repeatable finger positioning during demanding manipulation tasks.

The skeletal hand dimensions are approximately 185 × 80 × 40 mm, and the minimum grasping diameter is 0 mm. The operating voltage range of 16–58 V DC supports flexible integration with the H2 EDU Smart M platform.

Wrist-Mounted RGB Cameras for Close-Range Perception

Each Wuji Hand 2 includes a wrist-mounted RGB camera with 1920 × 1080 resolution and a diagonal field of view of 130°. These cameras provide detailed close-range visual feedback during fine manipulation and grasp verification.

71 Degrees of Freedom — Exceptional Whole-Body Dexterity

The H2 EDU Smart M provides 71 total degrees of freedom: 6 per leg, 7 per arm, 3 at the waist, 2 at the head and 20 in each dexterous hand. This configuration combines dynamic whole-body motion with highly articulated finger control for advanced bimanual manipulation and human–robot interaction research.

Dual Intel Compute with Expandable AI Performance

The standard computing architecture includes an Intel Core i5 processor for platform functionality and an Intel Core i7 processor for user development. This separation supports stable system operation while providing a dedicated environment for custom software, control and research workloads.

Empty PC3 and PC4 slots support optional high-performance modules selected at the time of purchase. Available configurations include an NVIDIA Jetson Thor module or an Intel Core i7 with NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX for more demanding AI applications.

High-Torque Joints. Industrial-Grade Precision.

Low-inertia, high-speed inner-rotor permanent magnet synchronous motors provide up to 120 N·m of torque in the arm joints and up to 360 N·m in the leg joints. Industrial-grade cross-roller bearings support high precision and load capacity, while the arms provide an approximate rated payload of 7 kg and a peak payload of approximately 15 kg.

Aerospace-Grade Construction & Quick-Swap Power

The robot is constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum, titanium alloy and high-strength engineering plastics. It weighs approximately 70 kg with battery and uses an air-cooled thermal design. The 15 Ah, 0.972 kWh smart battery operates at up to 75.6 V and provides approximately 3 hours of runtime. Its quick-release design supports practical battery replacement during research and testing.

Binocular Vision & Natural Human–Robot Interaction

A bionic head and face are combined with wide-field-of-view humanoid binocular cameras. Array microphones and high-power speakers support voice interaction and natural human–robot communication, while Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 provide modern wireless connectivity for research environments.

Full Secondary Development

The H2 EDU Smart M supports full secondary development through open APIs, deep system access and SDK support for ROS2, Python and C++. Researchers can build custom control, manipulation, perception and embodied AI workflows directly on the platform.
