Unitree Robotics has introduced the Unitree R1, a lightweight, dynamic, and customizable humanoid platform developed for academic, engineering, educational, and applied robotics projects.

Designed for research, education, and real-world testing, the R1 combines up to 26 degrees of freedom, multisensory interaction, onboard AI, and multimodal communication. It supports applications ranging from human–robot interaction and autonomous navigation to balance control, manipulation, and behavioral algorithm testing.

Its open architecture, SDK support, and modular hardware design provide a flexible foundation for custom hardware extensions, AI model training, software prototyping, and the development of human–robot interaction interfaces.
